Program Information

What ages can enroll at Little Breaks? Our regular weekday drop-in care is for children ages 2-6 years old. We can watch your child up to 4 hours per day. Childcare sessions are booked in 2 hour blocks. We don't require to kids to be potty trained, but to cut down on the number of diapers changed, we will only change #2 dirty diapers.

Are there limits to how many sessions my child can attend? Each child can only join 2 play sessions per day (total of 4 hours). Parent's Night Out - COMING SOON If you plan to use a Parent’s Night Out session, you can not have your child in an early session. Additionally, if you plan to sign up for a Parent’s Night Out session, you can only have your children join 2 additional sessions during the week (total of 4 hours).

Capacity and Waitlist Information: We provide children with attentive care and interaction so we will limit our capacity to 20 children in one session. If we have reached capacity, you will have the option to add your child to the waitlist. If a spot opens up on the waitlist and you’re next, you will be notified to sign up within a 2 hour window before it opens up to the next person in line.

Socks and Shoes Policy: Shoes must be removed and socks must be worn by all in order to enter the play area. If you forget socks, we offer some available for purchase.

Late Pick-Up Fee and Procedure: Little Breaks is an exempted program and follows strict guidelines from the state. We can not watch children beyond the 2 or 4 hour session you signed your children for. There will be charged $1 per minute per child if they are still at Little Breaks after their contracted pick-up time. If there is a late pick-up fee, parents will receive a notice from Little Breaks stating the amount of the late pick-up fee. The fee will be added to the payment charged to the account. If you do not arrive to pick up their child from the program by 15 minutes after contracted pick-up time, Account Coordinators will first try to contact you before reaching out to other Authorized Adults and Emergency Contacts. If you and Authorized Adults are unable to be reached, staff members will then try to contact listed emergency contacts on your account. If staff members are unable to reach any listed contact persons, Little Breaks will have to notify the Department of Human Services and/or the Milton Police Department.

Health and Safety Policies

What Are The Qualifications Of Your Employees? Little Breaks teammates must pass a background check and have prior experience with children. They are trained and certified in CPR, first aid and epipen usage, as well as in all forms of play-based activities to engage your child. There are also mandatory ongoing training sessions for teammates throughout their employment to supplement and refresh skills or to update credentials.

What is Little Break’s Sick Policy? Our first priority at Little Break is providing a healthy, safe learning environment for all children. We kindly ask please do not bring a child if they are sick. A slight runny/stuffy nose is fine unless combined with any other symptoms listed below. Please do not worry about our late cancel policy if your child is suddenly sick, simply email us to let us know about the illness and you will not be charged a late cancel fee. However, if you do not show up to class without giving notice, even if it's due to illness, you will be charged a $20 no show fee. This is because there is often a waitlist of families hoping to get a session and when we are not given notice, another family has to miss even though there was room. A child will be sent home as soon as possible if any of the following is experienced: an illness prevents the child from participating comfortably in activities (as determined by the staff); an illness results in a greater need for care than the staff can reasonably provide without compromising the health or safety of other children at the center; or a child is experiencing any of the following conditions. Any signs of contagious sickness or illness Fever of 100 or greater Constant or chesty cough Diarrhea Nausea or vomiting Sore throat Rash Signs/symptoms of severe illness, including: lethargy, inexplicable irritability or persistent crying, difficulty breathing, and/or wheezing A child who becomes ill at Little Breaks will be isolated while they wait for his/her parents to pick them up, in order to limit exposure of other children. If your child becomes ill at our center, please make arrangements for your child to be picked up within 20 minutes after being notified. Little Breaks may initiate contact to other persons listed as emergency contacts if unable to reach a parent or guardian. Only those emergency contacts listed will be allowed to take a child home without permission from a parent/guardian. All children leaving the center due to illness/injury must be checked out before the child leaves Little Breaks. Little Breaks reserves the right to make the final determination of exclusion due to illness. Any exceptions to our illness policy will require a written note from a licensed healthcare professional stating that the child is not contagious. Our team is highly trained in the sanitation of surfaces, supplies, and toys and it is our top priority to keep Little Break as clean and safe as possible. By participating in any class or activity at Little Breaks, you acknowledge the contagious nature of illnesses (e.g. COVID-19, RSV, flu, common cold), and voluntarily assume the risk that your child(ren) and you may be exposed to or infected while participating in a session or event. You understand that Little Breaks cannot be held liable for any exposure to illness. You agree to each statement above and release Little Breaks from any and all liability for unintentional exposure or harm due to illness.

What is Little Break’s Behavioral Policy? Maintaining a safe and healthy environment is critical to everyone’s safety. We treat all children with respect and kindness and we help them to treat others with the same respect and kindness. We do not discipline children in our care; however, when staff members will encourage appropriate behaviors and redirect unwanted behaviors. Ideally, we would like to work with families to prevent these behaviors from occurring. When necessary for the safety of all children in our care, we may need to look at dismissing a child that continuously engages in inappropriate behavior. For any questions please speak with a manager on duty when visiting Little Breaks or call ahead of your visit for further clarification.

What If My Child Has A Food Allergy? Please notify our team members upon check-in if your child has an allergy so we can do our best to create the safest environment possible for your family. However, it is ultimately up to your family to take the necessary precautions to ensure your child's safety. If your child will have an anaphylactic shock from nuts or any food, it is your responsibility to provide an epinephrine/epipen and notify the attending manager of the child’s allergy before each session. We offer a variety of food options, but we cannot assure you there will be items to fit your child’s dietary needs. Please bring food they can eat. Little Breaks is nut-free and children are only allowed to eat what you bring or purchase for them.

What is an Exemption? An exemption is an exception to the requirements that a business or a person must be licensed. These providers must adhere to Exemption rules and regulations.
